Born in 1977 in France, Flavie Guerrand lives and works in Berlin. Graduate of the National School of Art in Bourges in 2004 with an extensive background in video, she has developed an instinctive photographic practice shaped by the rhythm of the moving image. Emerging from the French clandestine rave scene of 1990s and shaped by Berlin’s queer underground culture, she explores the intimacy of the party and the worlds that unfold around it. The city's vibrant queer scene left an indelible mark on her work, reflecting the LGBTQ+ communities influence on Berlin's nightlife. Witnessing the creation of safe spaces for uninhibited self-expression deeply resonated with her, impacting the gentleness and intimacy encapsulated in her photographic approach.
Her work is regularly exhibited internationally and was recognized in 2022 with first prizes in two international photography competitions in Italy: the Raise Your Zine festival in Naples and the 10th edition of Cdpzine in Rome.
